Slide-on campers and GVM: how to stay legal
The number one buyer mistake is overloading past GVM. Here's how to avoid it.
Your ute has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) — the most it can legally weigh fully loaded. Subtract the kerb weight and you get your payload. A slide-on camper, water, gear and people all eat into that payload, and many installs out there are technically illegal.
